Missing Images

An alternate text is a text string that appears instead of an image that cannot be rendered on the Internet. It is used to show information about an image when the link to the image is lost or when the Internet connection speed is slow. Therefore, an alternative text strives to convey the information of the image clearly in writing. However, the properties of text and images are too different for the text to completely replace the image. This difference is maximized on links where images are lost. A link with only an x-box and alternate text gives viewers a lost image with several word fragments. Based on hints left in the gaps between images and texts, the artist constructs montages of the images that may have been lost for a while, perhaps forever.
