Helmo was founded in 2003 by Thomas Couderc and Clément Vauchez. The duo works in the broader scope of the graphic design field: image production, posters, signage, editorial design… The’ve mostly been collaborating with French cultural institutions and festivals. They also have created a more autonomous expression through books, prints and exhibitions. Helmo is based in Montreuil, near Paris, France.

It felt evident to us that the best way to make use of the six light boxes was simply to present the title words as a sign. It’s a sign where the dot over the ‘I’ might be read as an ‘O’, transforming the word LIVING into LOVING. This double reading, the interweaving of two vibrant words, lets an optimistic message beam out into the global post Covid-19 context, the tension between the geometrically coloured letters and the vigor of the superimposed hand-drawn lines embodying the joyful duality of being.
