Dainippon Type Organization’s recent work Jigu is a series of office supplies. Literally meaning a “letter-tool,” each Jigu product is shaped in an alphabet letter: “p” for protractor, another “p” for pin, “r” for ruler, and “t” for tray. The name of a product motivates the shape, adding an incidentally unique function to the tool. A light-hearted sense of humor permeating the Dainippon Type Organization’s body of work is also evident here: “Jigu brings fun on your desk!” On a particularly stressful day in the office, you might be pleasantly surprised to see a haiku is forming itself with your Jigu.
