타이포잔치 Typojanchi 2013

Kim Kyung Ju’s work occupies the anti-lyrical forefront of the 2000s young Korean poets, while almost violently revealing the splendor of the romantic. His poems display multidisciplinary vocabulary and ungrammatical sentences, and how they explode and expand beyond the edges of emotions. He graduated from the philosophy department of Sogang University, and is studying musical drama at the Korea National University of Arts while teaching as guest professor at Donduk Women’s University. He debuted in 2003, and earned the Kim Su-yong Contemporary Poetry Award in 2009 for his third collection of poems.

The designer Min Bon is focused on the relationship between the Latin alphabet and Hangul. He studied visual communication design at the Seoul National University, and earned a master’s degree from the Universitat de Barcelona and the University of Reading. He has worked at Hankyoreh newspaper and Grupo Erre, and currently is employed at Apple Inc., Cupertino.

Min Bon concentrates on the multiple meanings and contrasting images of Kim Kyung Ju’s “The Alien.” Min attempts a visual narrative by systematically modifying the characters, using the type-design software functions of interpolation and extrapolation.
